HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Father Richard Conyers, C.S.C. for his 20 years of dedicated service at Notre Dame College Prep and congratulate him on his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Father Richard's significance to the Notre Dame College Prep community is unparalleled, as he leaves the students, faculty, alumni, and parents he graced with nothing but the warmest memories; and

WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Father Richard will reside at the Our Lady of Fatima House, a residency for the retired and religious, on the campus of the University of Notre Dame; and

WHEREAS, Father Richard will continue to visit Notre Dame College Prep for school masses and other events, as well as pray for everyone at Notre Dame College Prep daily; he will represent Notre Dame College Prep in the Holy Cross Community; and

WHEREAS, The Rev. Richard Conyers, C.S.C. Scholarship was created to commemorate the hard work, spiritual formation, and scholastic achievement Father Richard fostered at Notre Dame College Prep; funded at $25,000, two students have already benefitted; and

WHEREAS, The Notre Dame College Prep community is losing a remarkable member, but the legacy Father Richard leaves behind will live on in the lives of those he helped; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we commend and applaud Father Richard Conyers, C.S.C. on his successful career and a life filled with service, faith, and benevolence, and we congratulate him on his accomplishments and retirement; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Father Richard and Notre Dame College Prep.
