HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Goreville High School boys basketball team, the Blackcats, on their historic 2017-2018 season; and

WHEREAS, The Blackcats earned a birth in the 2018 Illinois High School Association Class 1A Boys State Basketball Tournament, their first in school history; they finished with an impressive run in the tournament, making it to the Final Four; and

WHEREAS, The Blackcats concluded their regular season with a record of 23 wins and 13 losses; and

WHEREAS, The Blackcats were the Sesser-Valier Holiday Tournament Champions, the Meridian Regional Champions, the Hardin County Sectional Champions, and the Carbondale (SIU) Super-Sectional Champions; and

WHEREAS, The Blackcats are coached by Head Coach Todd Tripp and Assistant Coaches Alex Fischer and Gary Glidewell; and

WHEREAS, The Blackcats are Luke Brown, Peyton Geyman, Peyton Massey, Braden Webb, Morgan Bishop, Kanon Webb, Raymond Lewis, Logyn Frassato, Cole Tosh, Tanner Dunn, Logan Hankins, Trent Glidewell, Connor Johnson, Rhet Schuetz, Landon Albright, and Zane Schuetz, Manager; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Goreville High School boys basketball team, the Blackcats, on their historic 2017-2018 season, and we wish them many more successful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the Blackcats as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
