SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Betsie, Jacob, and Jocelyn Austif of
4Franklin, who passed away on January 31, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Betsie Austif was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri
6to Robert and Regina Saviola Tucker on January 31, 1991; she
7married Jonathan E. Austif in Franklin on February 2, 2015; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Betsie Austif was a devoted wife and loving
9mother; she enjoyed knitting, making blankets for children, and
10doing arts and crafts; she loved writing poetry, singing, and
11reading; she was a member of Franklin Christian Church, where
12she sang in the choir and watched children in the nursery; she
13was a member of the Franklin Fire Department; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jacob was born on July 15, 2013; he was a curious
15boy who loved helping his father work on trucks, watching
16Veggietales, and super heros; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jocelyn was born on November 10, 2016; she had her
18father's ears and her mother's smile; she was always a happy
19baby and loved being cuddled; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Betsie Austif was preceded in death by her

1brother, Jordan Proffitt, and Jacob and Jocelyn's paternal
2great-grandparents, Joseph Edger, and Jean Austif; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Betsie, Jacob, and Jocelyn Austif are survived by
4Jonathan, father and husband; daughters and sisters, Abigail
5Schurman, and Issabelle Hopper; Betsie's parents, Robert and
6Regina Tucker; Jacob and Jocelyn's paternal grandparents, Jeff
7Austif and fiancé, Kathy, and Beverly Teaney; Betsie's
8grandparents, Roger and Shirley Tucker, Larry and Linda Jones,
9Robert and Jo Henson, and Pete and Judy Saviola; Betsie's
10sisters, Whitney Proffitt, and Maddi Tucker; Jacob and
11Jocelyn's paternal great-grandparents, Robert Teaney, and Kurt
12and Jean Hasselbring; Betsie's brothers, Robert Austin Tucker,
13and Gabriel W. Tucker; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,
14and cousins, including Jonathan's sisters, Amy (Preston)
15Smith, and Megan Austif; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Betsie, Jacob, and Jocelyn Austif, and extend our sincere
19condolences to their family, friends, and all who knew and
20loved them; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Betsie, Jacob, and Jocelyn Austif as
23an expression of our deepest sympathy.
