SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dohndre Cornelious "Dre" Hughes of
4Springfield, who passed away on February 23, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dohndre Hughes was born in Buffalo, New York to
6Stanley Hughes and Dawn Stewart on March 7, 1998; he was raised
7by his father and his mother, Erica Hughes; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dohndre Hughes enjoyed spending time with his
9family, playing cards, playing basketball, cooking meals, and
10burning skillets; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dohndre Hughes never left a conversation without
12saying "I love you" or giving someone a hug; he had a smile
13that could brighten anyone's day and an infectious laugh; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dohndre Hughes was preceded in death by his
15grandmother, Everlee Mathis and his uncle, Greg Hughes; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dohndre Hughes is survived by his parents, Stanley
17and Erica Hughes and his mother, Dawn Stewart; his brothers,
18Nicholas Johnson, Chasten Hughes, and Da'Von Stewart; his
19sisters, Devonicia and Dierra Stewart; his aunts, Jean (Ron)
20Black, Aurelia (Larry) Clark, Gwen (Ted) Harrison, and Carol

1and Cheryl Draper; his uncles, Thayer Harrison, James Hughes,
2and Vernen Todd; his cousins, Adora and Arya Onyemelukwe; his
3grandmother, Barbara Hughes; and his many cousins, nieces,
4nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Dohndre Cornelious "Dre" Hughes and extend our sincere
8condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
9him; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Dohndre Hughes as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
