2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jack Coder of Hampton, who passed away on
4March 26, 2018; and
5    WHEREAS, Jack Coder was born in Moline to Harold William
6and Gertrude Marie (Duncan) Coder on July 8, 1930; he graduated
7from United Township High School in East Moline, where he was
8president of the senior class; he then graduated from Augustana
9College in 1952, where he was on the football team; he served
10in Korea in the United States Army; he married Beverly McNeal
11in Hampton on December 26, 1954; he completed his master's
12degree at the University of Iowa; and
13    WHEREAS, Jack Coder was employed by Moline School District
14No. 40 as a guidance counselor at Moline High School for 38
15years; and
16    WHEREAS, Jack Coder was a charter member of the Hampton
17Historical Society and a member of the Blackhawk Retired
18Teachers Association; he enjoyed history and genealogy; and
19    WHEREAS, Jack Coder was preceded in death by his siblings,
20Harold "Bill" Coder, Clifford Coder and Bette Eggerichs; and

1    WHEREAS, Jack Coder is survived by his wife, Beverly; his
2children, Christopher McNeal (Marcelle) Coder, Tad W. Coder,
3and Ellie Coder (Daniel Kosminsky); his grandchildren, Hannah
4Coder, Claire Coder, Katee Coder, Jack B. Coder, Merry Coder
5(Dr. Kane Keller), Rebecca Kosminsky, and Christopher W.
6Kosminsky; his great-grandson, Maxwell Correa; his
7sister-in-law, Mary Jane Nelson; and his many nieces and
8nephews; therefore, be it
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Jack Coder and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
12friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Jack Coder as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
