SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joan M. Callis of St. Louis, Missouri,
4formerly of Granite City, who passed away on April 16, 2018;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Joan Callis was born in East St. Louis to Joseph
7and Anna (Flak) Wegrzyn on March 20, 1939; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Joan Callis participated in local charities and
9was recently a diva host for Food Outreach; she was also a
10political activist; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Joan Callis was preceded in death by her parents;
12and her siblings, Anna Walentia, William J. Wegrzyn, Lottie
13LeVanti, Helen Patterson, and Chester J. Wegrzyn; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joan Callis is survived by her husband of 54
15years, Felix "Lance" Callis; her children, Mona S. (Dale
16Erspamer) Callis, Ann E. (James Holloran) Callis, Melissa Mary
17Callis, and Phillip Lance Callis; her grandchildren, Michael,
18Anna, Nora (Phil Adams), Elliot, Caroline, Anna, Ava Rose, and
19Juan Manuel; and her six great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2Joan M. Callis and extend our sincere condolences to her
3family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
4further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Joan Callis as an expression of our
7deepest sympathy.
