| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dorothy E. "Dottie" Kane of Godfrey, who | 4 | | passed away on May 26, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dottie Kane was born in Alton to Louis and | 6 | | Margaret (Shannon) Begnel on August 24, 1930; she graduated | 7 | | from Marquette Catholic High School; she married T. Patrick | 8 | | Kane on August 11, 1951; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Before marrying Pat, Dottie Kane worked for the | 10 | | telephone company; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dottie Kane was devoted to her faith and her | 12 | | family; her home was always open to family and friends, and | 13 | | there was always plenty of food and drink; she was a gracious | 14 | | host, who relished big family occasions and dinners; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Dottie Kane was preceded in death by her parents; | 16 | | her husband, Pat; her brother, Don Begnel; and her sister, | 17 | | Martha Fosha; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dottie Kane is survived by her children and their | 19 | | spouses, Mary Ellen and Pat Richards, Tom and Janet Kane, John | 20 | | and Joan Kane, Beth and Rob Holtz, and Chris and Nici Kane; her |
