SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Albert C. "Butch" Fisher of Decatur, who
4passed away on October 18, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Albert Fisher was born in Decatur to Everett
6Charles and Juanita McDaniel Fisher on October 6, 1943; he
7graduated from Atwood-Hammond High School and received his
8agriculture degree from Southern Illinois University; he
9served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and married
10Sherlyn Sue Sykes at the Hammond United Methodist Church on
11November 24, 1968; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Albert Fisher farmed and worked for Kemper
13Insurance and Morton Buildings; he was a resource
14conservationist for the Douglas County Soil and Water
15Conservation District; he traveled to many schools and events
16with his rainfall simulator and promoted no-till farming
17methods prior to his retirement; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Albert Fisher was a member of the Hammond United
19Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Bement Masonic Lodge
20#365, AF & AM, and a board member of the Piatt County Soil and
21Water Conservation District; he was a former president of the
22Atwood-Hammond School Board and a trustee of the Hammond

1Village Board; he was an avid horseman and was a member of the
2American Road Horse Association; his greatest joy was spending
3time with his grandchildren; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Albert Fisher was preceded in death by his
5parents; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Albert Fisher is survived by his wife of nearly 50
7years, Sherlyn; his son, Chuck (Shelly) Fisher; his daughter,
8Carmen (Mark) Hamilton; his grandchildren, Carly, Chase, and
9Camry Fisher and Andrew and Caitlyn Hamilton; his sister,
10Patricia Heit; and his brother, Bill (Ellie) Miller; therefore,
11be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Albert C. "Butch" Fisher and extend our sincere condolences to
15his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Albert Fisher as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
