SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lucille H. Stevenson of Godfrey, who
4passed away on February 23, 2017, at the age of 91; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lucille Stevenson was born in Hoyleton to Henry
6and Amanda (Westerfeld) Nierman on October 21, 1925; she
7married George "Steve" Stevenson of Salem on September 19,
81948; they later moved to Alton; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lucille Stevenson was Secretary/Treasurer of
10Quality Buick GMC Cadillac; she was a lifelong member of
11Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey, a member of the
12Godfrey Women's Group, P.E.O. Chapter Illinois, a volunteer for
13Meals on Wheels, the Caravan, Service League, and other
14organizations; she enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling,
15bridge, and many activities at church; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Lucille Stevenson was preceded in death by her
17parents; her husband; two brothers, Leroy and Robert Nierman;
18and a sister, Elsie Pries; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lucille Stevenson is survived by her two sons,
20Greg Stevenson and his wife Gerri, and David Stevenson and his
21wife Carol; four grandchildren, Jill Stevenson, Natalie

1Merrill and her husband Cole, Chad Stevenson and his wife
2Megan, and Cody Stevenson and his wife Nicole; eight
3great-grandchildren, Vivian, Macy, Lexi, Reid, Paige, Finnley,
4Oliver, and Isla; her brother, Kent Nierman; and two sisters,
5Jean Harder and Marilyn Little; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Lucille H. Stevenson, and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Lucille Stevenson as an expression
13of our deepest sympathy.
