2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jon L. Christiansen of Moline, who passed
4away on August 14, 2017; and
5    WHEREAS, Jon Christiansen was born in in Moline to L.R. and
6Harriett Eckdahl Christiansen on August 21, 1937; he graduated
7from Moline High School and served in the United States Air
8National Guard; he earned a bachelor's degree and attended both
9Drake University and Augustana College; he married Heidi Radik
10in Moline on June 30, 1962; and
11    WHEREAS, Jon Christiansen began his career at L.R.
12Christiansen Company in Moline and worked his way up to
13president; he then turned his attention to real estate and was
14instrumental in revitalizing the old International Harvester
15Farmall plant into the Quad City Industrial Center; along with
16his brother, Jim, he formed L.R.C. Developers and L.R.C. Real
17Estate; most recently, he was CEO of L.R.C. Real Estate in Rock
18Island; he held memberships in many organizations, including
19Rotary Club, the Paul Harris Society, Renew Moline, Short Hills
20Country Club, Bay Colony Beach Club in Naples, Florida, and
21Boot Lake Homeowners Association in Eagle River, Wisconsin; he
22was on the board of the YMCA, Salvation Army, and First Federal
23Savings and Loan; and

1    WHEREAS, Jon Christiansen was a longtime winter resident of
2Naples, Florida and enjoyed summer vacations in Eagle River,
3Wisconsin; he was an avid tennis player, loving husband,
4father, and grandfather; he enjoyed attending and
5photographing his grandsons' sporting events and activities;
7    WHEREAS, Jon Christiansen was preceded in death by his
8parents; and
9    WHEREAS, Jon Christiansen is survived by his wife of over
1055 years; his daughter, Kimber (Dan) Frieden; his brother, Jim
11(Pat) Christiansen; his grandsons, Ben and Ryan Frieden; his
12nieces, Helle Getz, Jill (Dave) Latting, and Sue (Charlie)
13Hintz; and his nephew, Scott (Kami) Christiansen; therefore, be
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Jon L. Christiansen, and extend our sincere condolences to his
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Jon Christiansen as an expression of
