HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Daniel Adalberto Salgado, who passed away on November 11, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was born to Herminio Herman Salgado and Eloisa Cortes in Blue Island on June 14, 1933; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955; he married Maria Del Carmen Maldonado in 1960; throughout his life, he resided in Blue Island and Calumet Park, Illinois, Santa Rosa, California, and Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado worked as a dedicated steel mill worker at ACME Steel for 42 years; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was a member at Seven Holy Founders Church in Calumet Park and St. John the Baptist Church in Healdsburg, California; he served as president of Latin Americans For America in Calumet Park, and he was an active parent volunteer at Eisenhower High School in Blue Island; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado enjoyed caring for his and his children's properties; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was known for his laughter and zest for life, and he felt most fulfilled when surrounded by those he loved; he will be remembered for his legacy of hard work, justice, family unity, generosity, and community service; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Eucario, Lucia, Alfred, and Salvador; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was the husband of Maria Del Carmen; the father of Hector (Sylvia) Garza, Emma Garza, Alejandra (Leo) Mendez, Carmen Salgado, Reina (Alfonso) Salinas, Daniel (Rhonda) Salgado, Juan (Leticia) Salgado, and Lily (Joe) Barrera; the grandfather of 22; the great-grandfather of 19; the brother of Herman G. (Esperanza) Salgado and Herminio (Antonia) Salgado; and the brother-in-law of Leonor Salgado; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Daniel Adalberto Salgado and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Daniel Salgado as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
