| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of James J. "Jim" Louch Sr., who passed | 4 | | away on April 1, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Louch was born in Joliet to Benjamin and | 6 | | Hazel (Edwards) Louch on November 29, 1933; he attended St. | 7 | | Patrick High School in Chicago; and | 8 | | WHEREAS, Jim Louch was a member of Laborers Union Local 75 | 9 | | and then worked for Will County, retiring from the Land Use | 10 | | Department; and | 11 | | WHEREAS, Jim Louch was a member of the Croatian Cultural | 12 | | Club and Joliet Township Seniors; he was the past president | 13 | | and a lifetime member of the Chaney Progressive Club, a | 14 | | lifelong member of the Moose Club, and a longtime parishioner | 15 | | and usher at St. Anne's Catholic Church; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Jim Louch had an amazing sense of humor and could | 17 | | make everyone around him smile; he enjoyed writing poems, | 18 | | watching westerns on TV, and, most of all, spending time with | 19 | | his family; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Jim Louch was preceded in death by his parents; |

| 1 | | his grandson, Benjamin Louch; his sisters, Betty (Cal) | 2 | | Gergacz, Charlotte (John) Ligos, Roma (Steve) Kimak, Mary Lou | 3 | | (Buzz) Welter, and Shirley (George) Liker; and his brothers, | 4 | | Joseph (Betty) Louch, Robert (Judy) Louch, and George | 5 | | (MerryJo) Grant; and | 6 | | WHEREAS, Jim Louch is survived by his wife of 68 years, | 7 | | Margaret (Shukle) Louch; his children, Joseph Louch, James | 8 | | (Audrey) Louch Jr., Carolyn (Chuck) Willard, and Annette | 9 | | (Brian) Parker; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; | 10 | | and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it | 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | James J. "Jim" Louch Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to | 14 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further | 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 17 | | presented to the family of Jim Louch as an expression of our | 18 | | deepest sympathy. |
