SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

220 ILCS 5/16-119.5 new

Amends the Public Utilities Act. Provides that an electric utility or an alternative retail electric supplier shall display the last day of the term of service on the customer's periodic billing statement when a term of service is established through a contract. Effective January 1, 2013.

AN ACT concerning utilities.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding Section 16-119.5 as follows:

(220 ILCS 5/16-119.5 new)

Sec. 16-119.5. An electric utility or an alternative retail electric supplier customer's invoices. An electric utility or an alternative retail electric supplier shall display the last day of the term of service on the customer's periodic billing statement when a term of service is established through a contract.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January 1, 2013.
