HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dave Kruzil on the
4occasion of his retirement from the Lisle-Woodridge Fire
5Protection District; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dave Kruzil began his career as a firefighter with
7the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District in 1982; in 1984,
8he completed his training as a paramedic and began serving as a
9fire fighter/paramedic; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dave Kruzil was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant
11in 1990; he was subsequently promoted to the rank of Captain in
121995 and the rank of Battalion Chief in 2005; and
 
13    WHEREAS, During his 29-year career with the
14Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District, Dave Kruzil played
15an integral role in establishing the first ever State Wide
16Youthful Fire Setters Program; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dave Kruzil was designated the Lisle-Woodridge
18Fire Protection District's "Fire Fighter of the Year" in 1987
19and Outstanding Employee of the Year for the Village of
20Woodridge in 1987; and

1    WHEREAS, During his 29-year career with the
2Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District, Dave Kruzil was the
3recipient of three Awards of Merit; in 1988, he was the
4recipient of the Award of Valor; and
 
5    WHEREAS, During his career, Dave Kruzil attended the
6National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland multiple times
7and took numerous courses, including Command Staff and General
8Staff Functions in the Incident Command System, Command and
9Control of the Fire Department Operations at Target Hazards,
10Command and Control Decision Making at Multiple Alarm
11Incidents, and All Hazards Incident Management Team Training,
12Target Hazard Identification, and Incident Command
13Systems/NIMMS; and
 
14    WHEREAS, During his career with the Lisle-Woodridge Fire
15Protection District, Dave Kruzil obtained numerous
16certifications, including State Certified Fire Fighter III,
17Fire Apparatus Engineer, Fire Officer I and II, Paramedic, Fire
18Investigator, Hazardous Materials Incident Command, Illinois
19Fire Service Multi-Company and Command, Illinois Fire Service
20Institute WMD Response and Hazardous Materials Incident
21Management, and Illinois Fire Service Incident Safety Officer;
22and
 
23    WHEREAS, On March 12, 2011, Dave Kruzil safely completed

1his last shift with the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection
2District, completing a wonderful 29 year career; therefore, be
3it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
5NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we congratulate Dave Kruzil on his retirement from the
7Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District and hope that he
8enjoys it with his wife, Denise, and his children, Lauren and
9Michelle; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to Dave Kruzil at his retirement dinner on April 15,
122011 as a symbol of our respect, gratitude, and esteem.
