HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to recognize a successful
4family-owned business which has flourished throughout the last
5100 years; and
 
6    WHEREAS, On March 10. 1911, William Treudt purchased the
7West Chicago Press from A.H. and James M. Fairbank; and
 
8    WHEREAS, After William's death in 1919, his two sons,
9Phillip and Harold, assumed proprietorship and conducted the
10printing plant business together; the printing plant was moved
11to its location, 129 Fremont Street, West Chicago in 1929; and
 
12    WHEREAS, In 1939, Phillip sold his interest to Harold and
13moved to West Palm Beach, Florida; Harold and his son, William,
14became partners in 1955 and when Harold retired in 1969,
15William became sole proprietor; and
 
16    WHEREAS, The newspaper portion of the printing business
17along with the masthead "The West Chicago Press" was sold in
181979; and
 
19    WHEREAS, The Treudt family business, now operating under
20the name "The West Chicago Printing Company," was purchased by

1William's 2 sons, Bruce and Steve in 1992, and was subsequently
2moved to its present location at 131 Fremont Street in 2001;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, With 100 years of family pride and tradition, The
5West Chicago Printing Company is prosperous and committed to
6the practice of good business; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we congratulate the West Chicago Printing Company on 100 years
10of business; that we commend the dedicated members of the
11Treudt family for their contribution to the business as well as
12the community; and that we extend our very best wishes to them
13for continued success in the future; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the West Chicago Printing Company as a token of
16respect and esteem.
