HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Daniel Smallwood on the occasion of his retirement after 33 years of dedicated service with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 742; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Smallwood has served Local 742 in numerous capacities; he has been a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters since 1978; he has served as a Regional Council Delegate and as Local #742's Business Representative, Financial Secretary, and Treasurer; he has served as president of the Mid-Central Illinois Regional Council and the Illinois State Council; he has also served as a delegate to the 38th, 39th, and 40th General Conventions; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Smallwood has held several trustee positions with the Local's Pension Fund and Health and Welfare Fund, as well as the YMCA and the Sanitary District of Decatur; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Smallwood will celebrate this milestone event with a celebration in his honor on September 16, 2011 at the South Side Country Club in Decatur; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Daniel Smallwood on the occasion of his retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Daniel Smallwood as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
