HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Wilbur Fowler on his retirement from the Eldorado School Board after serving for 33 years; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his time on the Eldorado School Board, Mr. Fowler also served 45 years as a Precinct Committeeman, 8 years on the Saline County Board, and 5 years as the President of the Saline County Cancer Society; and

WHEREAS, He has been a member of the Eldorado First Baptist Church for 73 years and has served as a Deacon in the church for 51 years; and

WHEREAS, He served 15 years as President of the Eldorado Rector Coal Association; he served 25 years with the Rector Drainage Association; he served 40 years with the Eldorado Lions Club; and he served 10 years as the Saline County Public Administrator; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Fowler was a farmer for 43 years; he was the owner of the Eldorado Locker Company for 10 years and was in real estate sales for 11 years; he also served 15 years in the Eldorado Community Theater; and

WHEREAS, Wilbur Fowler is an example of someone who truly cares about their community, showing that through service and working for others; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Wilbur Fowler on his retirement from the Eldorado School Board; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Wilbur Fowler as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
