HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jena Hemann on the occasion of her incredible performance at the IHSA 2010 Girls Class 1A High School State Track and Field Meet; and

WHEREAS, Jena Hemann placed 1st in the high jump event, the long jump, the triple jump, and the 100-meter dash, becoming only the 5th female in State history and the 2nd female in Class 1A to win 4 events in the same year at the State track meet; and

WHEREAS, During the competition, Jena Hemann won her 3rd high jump championship and set a school record in the long jump of 19-3 1/4; in total, she has won 6 State titles and 11 State medals during her career; and

WHEREAS, Jena Hemann serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jena Hemann on the occasion of her incredible victory and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jena Hemann as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
