HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, November 11 is nationally recognized as Veteran's Day; on this day, we are reminded to thank, honor, and celebrate the military men and women who have served and protected the American people and our way of life; and

WHEREAS, Many communities and organizations pay tribute to the thousands of American veterans on this day; and

WHEREAS, As every veteran has made the oath to protect this nation, under risk of bodily harm, making sure that all veterans receive due and proper honor and acknowledgement is a priority that will not be compromised; and

WHEREAS, The members of this body are dedicated to ensuring that all Illinois veterans receive proper recognition for their courageous service to this nation; and

WHEREAS, Dedicating the month of November to all Illinois veterans will enable the citizens of this State to pay tribute to all veterans and make certain that no veteran is forgotten; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we designate the month of November as Thank You Illinois Veterans Month in the State of Illinois in honor of the men and women who have defended our nation from harm.
