SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

625 ILCS 5/16-102.1 new

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Department of State Police may not require a State Police officer to issue a specific number of citations, complaints, or warning notices during any specified time period for violations of traffic regulations governing the movement of vehicles. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning transportation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding Section 16-102.1 as follows:

Sec. 16-102.1. State Police traffic regulation quotas prohibited. The Department of State Police may not require a State Police officer to issue a specific number of citations, complaints, or warning notices during any specified time period for violations of traffic regulations governing the movement of vehicles.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
