1    AN ACT concerning public aid.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Children's Health Insurance Program Act is
5amended by adding Section 65 as follows:
 
6    (215 ILCS 106/65 new)
7    Sec. 65. Dental home initiative. The Department, in
8cooperation with the dental community and other affected
9organizations such as Head Start, shall work to develop and
10promote the concept of a dental home for children covered under
11this Act. Included in this dental home outreach should be an
12effort to ensure an ongoing relationship between the patient
13and the dentist with an effort to provide comprehensive,
14coordinated, oral health care so that all children covered
15under this Act have access to preventative and restorative oral
16health care.
 
17    Section 10. The Covering ALL KIDS Health Insurance Act is
18amended by adding Section 54 as follows:
 
19    (215 ILCS 170/54 new)
20    Sec. 54. Dental home initiative. The Department, in

9    Section 15. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
10adding Section 5-5.06 as follows:
 
11    (305 ILCS 5/5-5.06 new)
12    Sec. 5-5.06. Dental home initiative. The Department, in
13cooperation with the dental community and other affected
14organizations such as Head Start, shall work to develop and
15promote the concept of a dental home for children covered under
16this Article. Included in this dental home outreach should be
17an effort to ensure an ongoing relationship between the patient
18and the dentist with an effort to provide comprehensive,
19coordinated, oral health care so that all children covered
20under this Article have access to preventative and restorative
21oral health care.
 
22    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
23becoming law.
