SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Bennett P. Trapani of Mount Prospect, who
4passed away on January 16, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bennett Trapani was born on March 3, 1925, in
6Chicago; he moved to Mount Prospect with his wife, Millie, in
71948, after he had served in the United States Army in Iceland
8during World War II; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bennett Trapani had a long and distinguished
10career in the construction industry; after joining his
11brother-in-law, Bill Bolash, in the home remodeling business,
12he started his own company in 1952; Trapani Construction has
13been widely regarded as one of the top construction companies
14in the suburbs, with hundreds of projects ranging from 29
15hotels, with another 14 currently in development, 50
16Jewel-Oscos, CVS pharmacies and Walgreens, hospital projects,
17mixed-use retail projects, schools, banks, hotels, and
18shopping centers; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Bennett Trapani was the beloved husband of Millie
20(nee Jakopovich); the loving father of B. Gregory (Lauri)
21Trapani, Daniel (Beth) Trapani, Janet (Luther) Abernethy, and
22Joan (John) Hastings; the cherished grandfather of Ben,

1Michael, Sara, and Nic Trapani, Lisa and Dan Abernethy, and
2Amy, Megan, and Katie Hastings; the devoted son of the late
3Peter and Immaculata (nee Tagliere) Trapani; and the brother of
4Frank; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7his family and friends, the passing of Bennett P. Trapani; and
8be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Bennett Trapani as an expression of
11our sympathy.
