SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James W. Killoran, who passed away on
4June 12, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Killoran was born on January 27, 1925, in
6Vermont; he later moved with his family to North Chicago, where
7he resided for 75 years; he married Dorothy Coyle on September
86, 1947 at the Holy Family Church in North Chicago; and
 
9    WHEREAS, James Killoran joined the United States Navy and
10served as a radio-gunner on numerous aircraft carriers in the
11Pacific Ocean during World War II; after returning from the
12war, he became a postal employee and served as a letter-carrier
13and postal clerk for 38 years until his retirement; and
 
14    WHEREAS, James Killoran enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing,
15and being with his family and friends; and
 
16    WHEREAS, James Killoran was preceded in death by his
17parents, Timothy and Mary Killoran; his brothers, Timothy and
18John Killoran; and his sister, Francis Leonitis; and
 
19    WHEREAS, James Killoran is survived by his wife, Dorothy;
20his son, James (Barbara) Killoran; his sister, Mary (Thomas)

1Gallahue; his grandchildren, Jill (Frank) Giunta and Brian
2(Tracy) Killoran; and his great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Emma,
3and Abbie Giunta and Ellen and Julia Killoran; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6his family and friends, the passing of James W. Killoran; and
7be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of James Killoran as an expression of
10our sympathy.
