SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James "Jim" Monday of Collinsville, who passed away on September 15, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was born October 27, 1948, in Joliet, the son of Shirley (Pritz) Monday and the late James C. Monday; he married Michelle R. "Shelly" (Soles) Monday on April 19, 1997, in Granite City; and

WHEREAS, He retired March 28, 2006, as the Director of Administration for Madison County after 23 years of dedicated service; he was a member of the National Association of County Administrators; and

WHEREAS, He enjoyed photography, traveling, bird watching, and spending time with his grandchildren; he was an avid baseball fan and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father; and his stepson, Michael Charles Moore; and

WHEREAS, James Monday is survived by his wife, Michelle; his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and David Reed; his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Laurabree Monday; his stepson and his wife, Brian and Jamie Haldeman; his grandchildren, Daniel Reed, Joshua Reed, James Haldeman, and Ethan Monday; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Diane Monday and Scott and Tina Monday; and other extended family and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of James Monday; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Monday as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
