SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Barbara Cleary of Chicago, who passed away on January 3, 2012; and

WHEREAS, She was born and raised in Chicago and was a first generation American; she graduated from Roosevelt High School; she spent most of her adult lifetime as a homemaker and caregiver, giving freely of her caring to her husband, family, and those closest to her; and

WHEREAS, She was a mentor and role model to her daughters Lara and Teryn, and taught them the value of family and education, and was very proud of both of them and their accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, She was a loyal and giving friend who loved life, theater, music, travel, shopping, eating out, reading, and playing bridge for the past 40 years as a member of the Estes Avenue Bridge Group; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her sisterin-law, Eileen Czablewski; her parents, Leo and Miriam Moritz; and her brother, Bernard; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Cleary is survived by her beloved daughters, Lara (Casey) Crnich and Teryn Cleary; her adored grandchildren, Cooper and Caroline Crnich; her brother, Donald Moritz; her sisters-in-law, Roberta, Kathy, and Barbara; her brother-in-law, Steve Cleary; her closest friends, Barbara (Gary) Fredrickson and Barbara (Butch) Melman; and her nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Barbara Cleary; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Barbara Cleary as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
