SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Allen Thomas "Sam" Wiggins of Park City, who passed away on January 20, 2012; and

WHEREAS, He was born February 16, 1926 in Elgin, and married Bernice Szczepanek on September 2, 1950 at Holy Rosary Church in North Chicago; he was a member of Queen of Peace Church and the Fleet Reserve; and

WHEREAS, He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and retired from the United States Navy in December, 1964 after 23 years of service as a Chief Commissary Officer; and

WHEREAS, He was an avid golfer and had a hole-in-one on the 11th green at Foss Park; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his 3 sisters; his 2 brothers; and his son-in-law, Ronald; and

WHEREAS, Allen Wiggins is survived by his wife, Bernice; his children, Richard (Kim) Wiggins, Rosemarie (Richard) Jennings, Racheal Wiggins-Kolb, and Roxann (Manuel) Casillas; his 6 grandchildren; his 4 great-grandchildren; his 3 brothers; and his 2 sisters; he was also everyone's favorite uncle; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Allen Wiggins; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Allen Wiggins as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
