SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sandra J. "Sandy" Connor of Springfield, who passed away on January 8, 2011; and

WHEREAS, She was born March 10, 1945 in Springfield, the daughter of Harold J. and Neanetta Conroy Smith; she married Charles "Jack" Connor in Springfield in 1964; and

WHEREAS, She worked for Pease's Candy and then as a custodian for the State of Illinois Senate for 18 years; and

WHEREAS, She loved fishing, traveling, gambling, Elvis, and her dogs; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, William E. Connor; her brother, Harold Martin Smith; her nephew, Brian J. Phillips; and her beloved dog, Chico; and

WHEREAS, Sandra Connor is survived by her husband, Charles "Jack" Connor; her son, John (wife, Kimberlee) Connor; her grandchildren, Jonathan English, John Matthew "Matt" Connor, and Gabrielle "Gabbi" Connor; her sister, Karen (husband, Richard) Phillips; her brothers, Ronald (wife, Donna) Smith and Edward (wife, Deborah) Smith; her sister-in-law, Mary Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Sandra Connor; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sandra Connor as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
