SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael Simkin; and

WHEREAS, Michael Simkin was born and raised in Chicago; he lived in Highland Park for 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Michael Simkin was the beloved husband of Merle, nee Robinson; the loving father of Jason (Prudence) Simkin, Melissa Simkin, and Bryan Simkin; the proud grandfather of Elijah and Jonah; the dear brother of Louise (Sheldon) Stein, Sonny (Sheila) Simkin, Kathy (Ron) Muller, the late Miriam (the late Martin) Rosenstein, Joan (the late Donald) Schact, and Paula (Richard) Balko; and the cherished brother-in-law of Joyce (Glant) Cohen; he will also be dearly missed by his many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Michael Simkin; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Simkin as an expression of our sympathy.
