 1                     AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 480

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 480 on  page  4  by
 3    replacing lines 5 through 8 with the following:
 4    "licensed  under this Act must maintain liability coverage in
 5    an amount proportionate to the settlements paid on behalf  of
 6    physicians  who  practice  in  the  same field of practice in
 7    which the physician practices.  The  Department  shall  adopt
 8    rules  to  develop  procedures  to  verify  that  a physician
 9    maintains liability coverage as required by this Section. The
10    Department shall suspend the license".
