1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1118
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1118 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by
5 adding Section 25 as follows:
6 (110 ILCS 305/25 new)
7 Sec. 25. Limitation on tuition increase. This Section
8 applies only to those students who first enroll after the
9 2003-2004 academic year. The tuition charged an undergraduate
10 student who is an Illinois resident shall not exceed the
11 amount that the student was charged at the time he or she
12 first enrolled at the University as an Illinois resident if
13 that student first enrolled not more than 3 and one-half
14 academic years before.
15 Section 10. The Southern Illinois University Management
16 Act is amended by adding Section 15 as follows:
17 (110 ILCS 520/15 new)
18 Sec. 15. Limitation on tuition increase. This Section
19 applies only to those students who first enroll after the
20 2003-2004 academic year. The tuition charged an undergraduate

1 student who is an Illinois resident shall not exceed the
2 amount that the student was charged at the time he or she
3 first enrolled at the University as an Illinois resident if
4 that student first enrolled not more than 3 and one-half
5 academic years before.
6 Section 15. The Chicago State University Law is amended
7 by adding Section 5-120 as follows:
8 (110 ILCS 660/5-120 new)
9 Sec. 5-120. Limitation on tuition increase. This Section
10 applies only to those students who first enroll after the
11 2003-2004 academic year. The tuition charged an undergraduate
12 student who is an Illinois resident shall not exceed the
13 amount that the student was charged at the time he or she
14 first enrolled at the University as an Illinois resident if
15 that student first enrolled not more than 3 and one-half
16 academic years before.
17 Section 20. The Eastern Illinois University Law is
18 amended by adding Section 10-120 as follows:

21 Section applies only to those students who first enroll after
22 the 2003-2004 academic year. The tuition charged an
23 undergraduate student who is an Illinois resident shall not

28 Section 25. The Governors State University Law is amended
29 by adding Section 15-120 as follows:

15 the 2003-2004 academic year. The tuition charged an
16 undergraduate student who is an Illinois resident shall not
17 exceed the amount that the student was charged at the time he
18 or she first enrolled at the University as an Illinois
19 resident if that student first enrolled not more than 3 and
20 one-half academic years before.
21 Section 35. The Northeastern Illinois University Law is
22 amended by adding Section 25-120 as follows:

11 resident if that student first enrolled not more than 3 and
12 one-half academic years before.
13 Section 45. The Western Illinois University Law is
14 amended by adding Section 35-125 as follows:

16 Sec. 35-125. Limitation on tuition increase. This
17 Section applies only to those students who first enroll after
18 the 2003-2004 academic year. The tuition charged an
19 undergraduate student who is an Illinois resident shall not
20 exceed the amount that the student was charged at the time he
21 or she first enrolled at the University as an Illinois
22 resident if that student first enrolled not more than 3 and
23 one-half academic years before.
24 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
25 becoming law.".
