 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3731

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 3731,  by  deleting
 3    everything  after  the  enacting clause and inserting in lieu
 4    thereof the following:

 5                             "ARTICLE 1

 6        Section 5.  The sum of $81,070,950, or so much thereof as
 7    may be necessary, is appropriated from  the  General  Revenue
 8    Fund  to  the  Board of Trustees of Illinois State University
 9    for any expenditures or purposes authorized by law, including
10    payment to the University for personal services  and  related
11    costs  incurred  during  the fiscal year ending June 30, 2004
12    and for salaries accrued but unpaid to academic personnel for
13    personal  services  rendered   during   the   academic   year
14    2001-2002.

15        Section  10.  The  sum  of $30,000, or so much thereof as
16    may be necessary, is appropriated from the State College  and
17    University  Trust  Fund  to  Illinois  State  University  for
18    student financial assistance.

19        Section  99.   Effective  date.  This Act takes effect on
20    July 1, 2003."
