 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3733

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 3733,  by  deleting
 3    everything  after  the  enacting clause and inserting in lieu
 4    thereof the following:

 5                             "ARTICLE 1

 6        Section 5.  The sum of $218,360,999, or so  much  thereof
 7    as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
 8    Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University
 9    for any expenditures or purposes authorized by law, including
10    payment  to  the University for personal services and related
11    costs incurred.

12        Section 10.  The sum of $250,000, or so much  thereof  as
13    may  be  necessary,  is appropriated from the General Revenue
14    Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University
15    for all costs required to match the Federal Title II  Teacher
16    Quality   Enhancement   State  Grant  for  Southern  Illinois
17    University at Carbondale, including payment to the University
18    for personal services and related costs incurred.

19        Section 15.  The sum of $250,000, or so much  thereof  as
20    may  be  necessary,  is appropriated from the General Revenue

 1    Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University
 2    for all costs required to match the Federal Title II  Teacher
 3    Quality   Enhancement   State  Grant  for  Southern  Illinois
 4    University  at  Edwardsville,  including   payment   to   the
 5    University for personal services and related costs incurred.

 6        Section  99.   Effective  date.  This Act takes effect on
 7    July 1, 2003."
