 1        AN ACT regarding schools.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The School Code is amended by adding Sections
 5    10-20.39 and 34-18.30 as follows:

 6        (105 ILCS 5/10-20.39 new)
 7        Sec. 10-20.39.  Prohibition on police  line-ups  and  mug
 8    photo   shoots.    A   school  board  shall  prohibit  a  law
 9    enforcement  agency  or  school  official,  while  on  school
10    grounds or at a school-sponsored activity, from recruiting or
11    compelling a student to participate in a police line-up, mock
12    police line-up, or mug photograph  shoot.  The  school  board
13    shall  also  prohibit students from participating in a police
14    line-up, mock police line-up,  or  mug  photograph  shoot  on
15    school grounds or at a school-sponsored activity.

17        Sec.  34-18.30.   Prohibition  on police line-ups and mug
18    photo shoots.  The board shall  prohibit  a  law  enforcement
19    agency  or  school  official, while on school grounds or at a
20    school-sponsored activity, from recruiting  or  compelling  a
21    student  to  participate  in  a  police  line-up, mock police
22    line-up, or mug photograph shoot. The school board shall also
23    prohibit students from participating  in  a  police  line-up,
24    mock  police  line-up,  or  mug  photograph  shoot  on school
25    grounds or at a school-sponsored activity.

26        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act  takes  effect  on
27    July 1, 2004.
