1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of
3 the State of Illinois wish to congratulate the Antioch
4 Community High School Dance Team on winning first place in
5 the AAA Kick category of the Illinois Drill Team Association
6 competition; and
7 WHEREAS, The dance team took part in the Illinois Drill
8 Team Association competition at the University of Illinois
9 Assembly Hall in Champaign on Saturday, March 15, 2003; the
10 team went up against nine other teams from across the State
11 and finished 4.7 points ahead of the closest competitor; the
12 winning kick routine was performed to "Luck Be a Lady
13 Tonight" by Frank Sinatra; and
14 WHEREAS, This is the second time that an athletic team
15 from Antioch Community High School has won a State
16 competition; the first time was in 1999 when the dance team
17 won the same competition; and
18 WHEREAS, The team also won third place in the AAA Funk
19 competition against 15 other teams; the Funk category had the
20 largest number of participants out of the 22 dance
21 categories; and
22 WHEREAS, The dance team is coached by Sam Griffin; the
23 team captains are Heather Axton and Lauren Popp; team members
24 are Lindsay Bailey, Megan Beemer, Kristy Breitbach, Tiffanie
25 Brown, Tiffany Chilcote, Chelsea Dickson, Jenna Diemer, Leah
26 Droze, Megan Genengels, Ashley Ginascol, Kari Hintz, Alyssa
27 Johnson, Amy Knutson, Kaja Milovonavic, Brittany Paschall,
28 Amanda Rzysko, Katie Severson, Amy Shouse, Savana Soder,
29 Amber Steward, Mandy Vickers, and Amanda Williams; therefore,
30 be it
31 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we congratulate the Antioch Community High School Dance Team
3 on winning first place in the AAA Kick category of the
4 Illinois Drill Team Association competition and winning third
5 place in the AAA Funk category; and be it further
6 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
7 presented to the coach, captains, and team members of the
8 Antioch Community High School Dance Team as a token of our
9 respect and esteem and with best wishes for success in future
10 competitions.
