1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of
3 the State of Illinois wish to congratulate Taylor K. Anderson
4 on the occasion of his graduation from Springfield High
5 School; and
6 WHEREAS, Taylor has a cumulative grade point average of
7 4.1 on a weighted scale; he is ranked 98 in a class of 371;
8 he is a member of National Honor Society; and
9 WHEREAS, Taylor participated in many activities during
10 high school, including serving as the varsity football team
11 captain; he was a member of the Springfield Chapter of NAACP,
12 intramural indoor soccer, Christian Youth Organization
13 basketball, Seven & Senators Show Choir, Faith Lutheran Youth
14 Group, I Decide Teen Advisory Panel, and Principal Scholars;
15 he was volunteer coordinator for ICASI (Jack 'N Jill), a
16 member of Urban League National Achievers, and the District
17 186 Student Representative for the Disciplinary Code
18 Committee; and
19 WHEREAS, Taylor was a member of German Club, a founding
20 member of the Springfield High School History Club, a member
21 of Latin Club, an election judge for the 2002 general
22 election, an honorary page in the Illinois House of
23 Representatives, a powder puff (girls football) coach, and a
24 member of the freshman and junior varsity football and
25 basketball teams; and
26 WHEREAS, Taylor has generously given of his time by
27 working in youth ministry in the Appalachian Mountains, with
28 the SIU Foundation - Breast Center, at the Mini O'Brein
29 Crisis Nursery Holiday Store, and with the Union Baptist
30 Bread Line and Helping Hands Food Pantry; he has worked with
31 the YMCA Elementary Basketball program as an assistant coach;
32 he participated in the Big Brother Big Sister Bowling for

1 Kids, the Safe Neighborhood Halloween Party, and the Crop
2 Walk for Hunger; and
3 WHEREAS, Taylor has been employed by Isringhausen
4 Imports, Staff Carpets & Vinyl Flooring, Anderson Legislative
5 Consulting, and Cullen & Associates, Ltd.; he enjoys reading,
6 traveling abroad, playing the guitar and piano, listening to
7 music, and computer interaction; and
8 WHEREAS, Taylor plans to attend either Morehouse College
9 or Clark Atlanta University; he received the Presidential
10 Scholarship from Clark Atlanta University, a Tuition
11 Scholarship and acceptance in the Honors Program at Morehouse
12 College, and the Diversity Scholarship from the University of
13 Missouri; he plans to attend law school after college
14 graduation; therefore, be it
15 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17 we congratulate Taylor K. Anderson on the occasion of his
18 graduation from Springfield High School; and be it further
19 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to Taylor K. Anderson as an expression of our
21 respect and esteem and with best wishes for his future.
