 1                     AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 50

 2        AMENDMENT NO. ___. Amend Senate Bill 50 on page 2,  below
 3    line 25, by inserting the following:
 4        "(f)  A law enforcement officer may not search or inspect
 5    a  motor  vehicle,  its  contents, the driver, or a passenger
 6    solely because of a violation of this Section."; and

 7    on page 3, below line 12, by inserting the following:
 8        "(3)  A law enforcement officer may not search or inspect
 9    a motor vehicle, its contents, the  driver,  or  a  passenger
10    solely  because  of  a  violation  of Section 12-603.1 of the
11    Illinois Vehicle Code."; and

12    on page 3, below line 13, by inserting the following:

13        "Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect upon
14    becoming law.".
