 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 190

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill  190  on  page  1,
 3    line  5,  after "18", by inserting "and adding Section 37.1";
 4    and

 5    on page 2,  immediately  below  line  33,  by  inserting  the
 6    following:

 7        "(225 ILCS 25/37.1)
 8        (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2006)
 9        Sec.  37.1.  Cease  and desist orders.  If the Department
10    has  reason  to  believe  that  a  person  has  violated  any
11    provision of Section 8 or 12 of this Act, the Department  may
12    issue  a  rule to show cause why an order to cease and desist
13    should not be entered against that person.   The  rule  shall
14    clearly  set  forth the grounds relied upon by the Department
15    and shall provide a period of 7 days from  the  date  of  the
16    rule to file an answer to the satisfaction of the Department.
17    Failure to answer to the satisfaction of the Department shall
18    cause   an   order   to   cease   and  desist  to  be  issued
19    immediately.".
