 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 306

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill  306  on  page  1,
 3    line 12, after the period, by inserting the following:
 4    "These  services  may  include comprehensive risk assessments
 5    for  pregnant  women,  women  with  infants,   and   infants,
 6    lactation   counseling,   nutrition   counseling,  childbirth
 7    support, psychosocial counseling, treatment and prevention of
 8    periodontal disease, and other  support  services  that  have
 9    been proven to improve birth outcomes."; and

10    on  page  1,  line  20,  after  the  period, by inserting the
11    following:
12    "Each such report shall include  an  evaluation  of  how  the
13    ratio  of  expenditures  for treating low-birthweight infants
14    compared with the investment in promoting healthy births  and
15    infants  in local community areas throughout Illinois relates
16    to healthy infant development in those areas.".
