 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 334

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 334,  AS  AMENDED,
 3    by  replacing  everything  after the enacting clause with the
 4    following:

 5        "Section 1. Short title. This Act may  be  cited  as  the
 6    Manufactured Home Installation Act.

 7        Section 5. Definitions. As used in this Act:
 8        "Manufactured  home" is synonymous with "mobile home" and
 9    means a structure that  is  a  factory-assembled,  completely
10    integrated  structure designed for permanent habitation, with
11    a permanent chassis and  so  constructed  as  to  permit  its
12    transport,  on  wheels temporarily or permanently attached to
13    its  frame,  from  the  place  of  its  construction  to  the
14    location, or subsequent locations, at which it is placed on a
15    support  system  for  use  as  a  permanent  habitation,  and
16    designed and situated so as to  permit  its  occupancy  as  a
17    dwelling   place   for   one   or   more  persons.  The  term
18    "manufactured home" includes manufactured  homes  constructed
19    after  June  30, 1976 in accordance with the federal National
20    Manufactured Housing Construction and Safety Standards Act of
21    1974 and does not  include  an  immobilized  mobile  home  as
22    defined in Section 2.10 of the Mobile Home Park Act.

 1        "Mobile  home  park"  means  a tract of land or 2 or more
 2    contiguous  tracts  of  land  that  contain  sites  with  the
 3    necessary utilities for 5 or more manufactured  homes  either
 4    free of charge or for revenue purposes.
 5        "Permanent  foundation", for a manufactured home, means a
 6    continuous perimeter foundation of material such as  mortared
 7    concrete block, mortared brick, or concrete that extends into
 8    the ground below the established frost depth and to which the
 9    home  is secured with foundation bolts at least one-half inch
10    in diameter, spaced at intervals of no more than 6  feet  and
11    within  one  foot  of  the  corners,  and embedded at least 7
12    inches into concrete foundations  or  15  inches  into  block
13    foundations.

14        Section  10.  Installation  requirements.  A manufactured
15    home installed on private property that is not  in  a  mobile
16    home  park on or after the effective date of this Act must be
17    installed so that it rests wholly on a permanent  foundation.
18    The permanent foundation must meet or exceed the requirements
19    for a permanent foundation as defined in this Act.

20        Section  999.  Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
21    becoming law.".
