 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1000

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 1000, AS  AMENDED,
 3    with  reference  to  page and line numbers of House Amendment
 4    No. 1, on page 1, line 6, after "65,",  by  inserting  "75,";
 5    and

 6    on  page  4,  by replacing line 30 with "solvents stored or";
 7    and

 8    on page 24, line 30, by replacing "$3.50" with "$1.75"; and

 9    on page 27, after line 10, by inserting the following:

10        "(415 ILCS 135/75)
11        Sec. 75. Adjustment of fees and taxes. Beginning  January
12    1,  2000,  and  annually  after that date, the  Council shall
13    adjust the copayment obligation of subsection (e) of  Section
14    40, the drycleaning solvent taxes of Section 65, the license
15    fees of Section 60, or any combination of adjustment of each,
16    after  notice and opportunity for public comment, in a manner
17    determined necessary and appropriate to ensure  viability  of
18    the  Fund  and  to  encourage  the  owner  or  operator  of a
19    drycleaning facility to use green solvents.  Viability of the
20    Fund shall consider the  settlement  of  all  current  claims
21    subject  to  prioritization of  benefits under subsection (c)

 1    of Section 25, consistent with the purposes of this Act.
