AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2271

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2271 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The Illinois Physical Therapy Act is amended by
5 changing Section 31 as follows:
 
6     (225 ILCS 90/31)  (from Ch. 111, par. 4281)
7     (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2006)
8     Sec. 31. Violations; use of words, abbreviations, figures,
9 or letters indicating licensure.
10     (a) Any person who is found to have violated any provision
11 of this Act is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor for the first
12 offense and a Class 4 felony for the second and any subsequent
13 offense.
14     (b) Any person representing himself as a physical therapist
15 or that the services he renders are physical therapy services,
16 or uses any words, such as physical therapy, physical
17 therapist, physiotherapy or physiotherapist, abbreviations,
18 figures or letters with the intention of indicating practice as
19 a licensed physical therapist, when he does not possess a
20 currently valid license as defined herein, commits a Class A
21 misdemeanor, for a first offense, and a Class 4 felony for a
22 second or subsequent offense.
23     (c) Any person representing himself as a physical therapist
24 assistant or that the services he renders are physical therapy

2 physical therapist assistant, or uses abbreviations, figures
