1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of
3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Allan "Hokey"
4 Mauer of Plainfield on March 30, 2003; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Mauer was a lifelong resident and actively
6 involved in the village of Plainfield; he was a general
7 contractor and subdivider of Mauer & Son Construction
8 Company, and he was also the owner of the Village Inn
9 Restaurant; he was a former Plainfield Village Building
10 Inspector, and the chairman of the committee that formed the
11 Plainfield Park District; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Mauer was a member of the Will County Board
13 for 10 years; he was a member of the American Legion Post 13
14 and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2491, both of
15 Plainfield; he was also a lifetime member of the Plainfield
16 Volunteer Fire Department; and
17 WHEREAS, Mr. Mauer will be fondly remembered for his love
18 of the game of golf; and
19 WHEREAS, Mr. Mauer's passing will be deeply felt by many,
20 especially his daughters, Karen (Thomas) Hartley and Sandra
21 (Jayme) Speva; his son, Steven Allan (Barbara) Mauer; his
22 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Barbara) Hartley, Julie (P.J.) Malin,
23 Bryan, Matthew and Scott Mauer, and Amanda and Michael Speva;
24 and
25 WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert
26 and Julia (nee Rysberg) Mauer; therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
29 of Allan Mauer and express our sincere and deepest sympathy
30 to his family and friends; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the family of Allan Mauer as an expression of
3 our condolences during their time of bereavement.
