1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of
3 Illinois learned with regret of the death of Roy W. "Wesley"
4 Kenney III on Saturday, September 13, 2003; and
5 WHEREAS, Roy W. Kenney III was born on January 9, 1953 in
6 St. Louis, Missouri; and
7 WHEREAS, Wesley, as he was known by those who knew him,
8 attended school in the Alabama and Ohio school systems before
9 his family returned to East St. Louis in 1960; and
10 WHEREAS, Mr. Kenney received his bachelor's degree from
11 Lincoln University in Pennsylvania in 1974 and later attended
12 the St. Louis College of Pharmacy; and
13 WHEREAS, The passing of of Roy W. Kenney III has been
14 deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his
15 father, Dr. Roy W. Kenney, Jr.; his sisters, Cheryl E.
16 McKinney and Deborah B. Kenney; his niece, Perchell E.
17 McKinney; his aunts, Katherine Brown, Retha Fant, Dorothy
18 Austin, Reba Kenney, and Ora Kenney; his uncle, Howard (Jane)
19 Kenney; and a host of other relatives and friends; therefore,
20 be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
22 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
23 of Roy W. Kenney III and extend our deepest sympathy to his
24 family, friends, and community; Wesley will be remembered as
25 a loving and truly gentle spirit to many; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to the family of Roy W. Kenney III as an expression
28 of our sincerest condolences.
