AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 881

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 881 on page 2, line
3 8, by replacing "recognition" with "approval"; and
 
4 on page 2, line 9, by replacing "and" with "in order"; and
 
5 on page 2, line 32, by replacing "recognized" with "approved";
6 and
 
7 on page 2, line 32, by replacing "and" with "in order"; and
 
8 on page 3, by replacing lines 8 and 9 with the following:
9     "to identify gifted and talented children in each area in
10     which a program for gifted and talented children is
11     established, which may include without limitation scores
12     on; and
 
13 on page 3, by replacing line 28 with the following:
14     "process within the school, school district, or
15     cooperative of school districts operating a program for
16     parents or"; and
 
17 on page 3, line 30, by replacing "local educational agency"
18 with "school, school district, or cooperative of school
19 districts"; and

1 on page 4, by replacing lines 4 through 7 with the following:
2     "will be grouped and instructed in order to maximize the

7 on page 4, line 18, by replacing "performance outcomes" with

9 on page 4, line 21, by deleting "building-level"; and
 
10 on page 4, by replacing lines 25 through 27 with the following:
11     "assigned to teach gifted and talented children understand
12     the characteristics and educational needs of children and
13     are able to differentiate the curriculum and apply"; and
 
14 on page 5, lines 3 and 4, by replacing "a recognition program"
15 with "an approval process"; and
 
16 on page 5, by replacing lines 8 and 9 with the following:
17 "the annual growth in learning data submitted by a school,
18 school district, or cooperative of school districts, (iv)
19 identify potential funding sources"; and
 
20 on page 5, line 12, by replacing "local educational agencies"
21 with "program supervisors and other school officials"; and
 
22 on page 5, by replacing lines 30 and 31 with the following:
23 "Superintendent of Education. Upon initial appointment, 4
24 members of the Advisory Council shall serve terms through
25 January 1, 2007 and 3 members shall serve terms through January
