AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1157

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1157 on page 2, by
3 replacing lines 12 through 23 with the following:
4     "(d) If, in a county having more than 400,000 but fewer
5 than 410,000 inhabitants, as determined by the last preceding
6 federal census, an area of contiguous territory not exceeding
7 one square mile contains at least 400 inhabitants residing in
8 permanent dwellings and is located in a township adjacent to a
9 county of less than 150,000 inhabitants, as determined by the
10 last preceding federal census, then that area and the area
11 adjacent thereto and also within such township, not exceeding,
12 however, 4 square miles in total, may be incorporated as a
13 village in the same manner as provided in subsection (a).
14 Neither the consent of a municipality nor the finding of the
15 county board under Section 2-3-18, if otherwise applicable,
16 need be obtained.".
