AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2137

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2137 by replacing lines 28 through 30 on page 1 and lines 1 through 3 on page 2 with the period the following: "and any other information required by the Department. Statements shall be filed with the Department by a contractor at the beginning of each calendar year for independent contractors performing work for the contractor at the beginning of that calendar year. A contractor shall file statements with the Department on April 1, July 1, and October 1 for any additional independent contractors who began performing work for the contractor during the 3-month period immediately preceding the filing date. Contractors may file statements by e-mail. The information obtained by"; and

on page 3, line 28 by inserting after the period the following: "Any action by the Department directing a contractor to cease its operations on a project may not take effect until the contractor's administrative remedies have been exhausted."; and

on page 3, line 33 by changing "Class 4 felony" to "Class A misdemeanor".
