| HOUSE RESOLUTION
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the | 3 |
| State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Eleanore | 4 |
| Helen Jerzak Moll in July of 2004; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Eleanore Helen Jerzak was born on December 6, | 6 |
| 1927, to Joseph and Mary Jerzak, Polish immigrants from the | 7 |
| towns of Grybow and Ufa; she was the third youngest of ten | 8 |
| children; she and her family lived on West 39th Street in | 9 |
| Chicago's Brighton Park; she was a tomboy who loved sports; | 10 |
| playing ball, roller skating, swimming, and dancing were | 11 |
| activities that Eleanore liked very much as a child; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, She attended and graduated from Kelly High School | 13 |
| just as World War II was ending, and played volleyball as a | 14 |
| high school student; after high school she went to work at the | 15 |
| main retail store of Sears Roebuck on Arthington and Homan in | 16 |
| Chicago; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Eleanore and Harry married on June 20, 1953; she | 18 |
| continued her work at Sears at its River Oaks store and soon | 19 |
| Robert was born to them; Harry had his dental office at 87th | 20 |
| and Commercial, prospered, and they soon the built a beautiful | 21 |
| new home on 88th and Cornell; they were blessed with three more | 22 |
| children: Mary Ann, David, and Jennifer; later they moved to | 23 |
| another, larger new home on Yates Ave in Calumet City; and
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, Harry and Eleanore's marriage was a model one; | 25 |
| this great relationship was interrupted on August 20, 1975, | 26 |
| when Harry passed away from heart surgery complications after | 27 |
| only 18 years of marriage; she raised her children lovingly on | 28 |
| her own; and
| 29 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Moll was a real "gad-about", seldom allowing | 30 |
| her physical discomfort, caused by severe rheumatoid |

| arthritis, to deter her from her social activities; she loved | 2 |
| people; she embraced people, and she loved to joke and smile | 3 |
| and talk; her love of people was all inclusive - she was blind | 4 |
| to all superficial traits like color, religion, or political | 5 |
| affiliation; she also loved children and was very generous to | 6 |
| them with her time and her attention; she knew how to get down | 7 |
| to their level and bring a smile to their faces; she loved her | 8 |
| grandchildren with all her heart; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, She dabbled in local politics, long ago as a | 10 |
| precinct captain, and most recently as an interested citizen; | 11 |
| she sold poppies regularly for the Veterans of Foreign Wars and | 12 |
| was known as a "Sunshine Lady", sending out greetings and "get | 13 |
| well cards" to people in the community; she frequented the | 14 |
| Italian Club where she had many friends; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Eleanore loved to wear hats; they were her | 16 |
| trademark; despite her many tough breaks in life, she always | 17 |
| managed to smile; nothing got her down for long and her will to | 18 |
| lift herself up and live life was extraordinary; therefore, be | 19 |
| it
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 21 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 22 |
| we mourn the passing of Eleanore Helen Jerzak Moll, and we | 23 |
| extend our deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and all who | 24 |
| knew and loved her; and be it further
| 25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 26 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our sincerest | 27 |
| condolences.
