| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives recognize Edward Henry Fauth for his many years | 4 |
| of community service; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Fauth was born on October 22, 1922, in Aurora; | 6 |
| he was raised in the country and attended country schools in | 7 |
| what is now Oswego until enrolling at East High School in | 8 |
| Aurora; after graduating from East High in 1939, he began | 9 |
| working at Barber-Greene in Aurora until entering
the U.S. Army | 10 |
| in 1943; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, After the war, he returned to Barber-Greene where | 12 |
| he
worked with only one interruption (for two years to complete | 13 |
| his Bachelor of Science degree at Michigan State University in | 14 |
| 1950) until 1970; during his years at Barber-Greene, he | 15 |
| completed his master's degree in mechanical engineering at | 16 |
| Illinois Institute of Technology; after leaving Barber-Greene,
| 17 |
| he took an administrative position at Waubonsee Community | 18 |
| College where he worked until his retirement in 1987; during | 19 |
| his years at Waubonsee, he earned an Ed.D. in secondary | 20 |
| education from Nova University; and
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Fauth served as Dean of Community Services at | 22 |
| Waubonsee Community College until 1985, he was a
Director of | 23 |
| the Savings and Loan Association Aurora Home Rule and Revenue | 24 |
| Sharing Committee, a member and Vice-Chairman of the southern | 25 |
| Kane County planning council, a
Kane-Dekalb Consortium for | 26 |
| Manpower Services Aurora Labor-Management Committee | 27 |
| co-founder, a Director of the Aurora Urban League, and a | 28 |
| co-founder/Director of the Kane Kendall County Mental Health | 29 |
| Center; he served on the Aurora Area Ad Hoc Committee on Drug | 30 |
| Abuse from 1974 to 1973; in addition, he was a Director of the | 31 |
| Kane County Community Action Agency from 1970 to 1976, | 32 |
| President of the United Way from 1971 to 1973, a member of |

| Aurora East School District 131 Board of Education from 1960 to | 2 |
| 1966, and president for two years and
member of the Board of | 3 |
| Directors of Aurora YMCA from 1960 to 1966; and
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, He received the
Distinguished Service Award of | 5 |
| Cosmopolitan International Club of Aurora in 1977; he was a | 6 |
| Kane County Ceta Services volunteer from 1972 to 1984, a leader | 7 |
| of the DuKane chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional | 8 |
| Engineers from 1981 to 1982, and he received the Quad County | 9 |
| Urban League "Do the Right Thing" Award of Honor in 2003; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, His wife, Frances, serves on the Plum Landing | 11 |
| Board of Directors, is a Waubonsee Community College Literacy | 12 |
| Volunteer Tutor Child Welfare League Church Women, and is a | 13 |
| member of the United P.E.O. PTAs; and
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The Fauth's have been a host family for students | 15 |
| from Paraguay, Norway, Brazil, and Aurora's Science and Math | 16 |
| Academy; they continue to reside in Aurora; they have four | 17 |
| children and 12 grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 18 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 19 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 20 |
| we recognize Edward Henry Fauth's many years of exceptional | 21 |
| community service to the City of Aurora; and be it further
| 22 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 23 |
| presented to Edward Henry Fauth as an expression of our esteem.
