| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Marisol Nichols was born in Chicago and attended | 3 |
| Naperville North High School and the College of DuPage in Glen | 4 |
| Ellyn; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Her distinguished credits demonstrate her | 6 |
| versatility both in film and television, and she has worked | 7 |
| with some of the most prominent actors and directors in the | 8 |
| business; she is a recipient of the Golden Eagle Award for Most | 9 |
| Promising Actor or Actress, and she also earned an ALMA | 10 |
| nomination for Outstanding Actress for her starring role in | 11 |
| "The Princess and the Marine"; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, She is currently starring in ABC's new legal drama | 13 |
| "In Justice" and has been receiving critical acclaim for her | 14 |
| role as a passionate lawyer, Sonya Quintano, who is fighting | 15 |
| for the wrongly accused; and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Her other television credits include her role as | 17 |
| the female lead in Stephen Bochco's cop drama, "Blind Justice", | 18 |
| her role as "Victoria Santiago" on Showtime's critically | 19 |
| acclaimed series "Resurrection Blvd", and numerous guest | 20 |
| appearances on hit series including "Friends", "Alias", | 21 |
| "Nip/Tuck", "CSI", "Law & Order SVU", "ER", and "Cold Case"; | 22 |
| she has starred in three television movies including NBC's | 23 |
| "Homeland Security", "The Princess and the Barrio Boy" for | 24 |
| Showtime, and "The Princess and the Marine"; and

| WHEREAS, She is currently starring in "Big Momma's House 2" | 26 |
| opposite Martin Lawrence; her other film credits include | 27 |
| portraying "Audrey Griswold" opposite Chevy Chase in "Vegas | 28 |
| Vacation" and appearances in "Bowfinger", Disney's "Mafia", | 29 |
| "Can't Hardly Wait", and "Scream 2"; and

| WHEREAS, Ms. Nichols is a volunteer supervisor and |

| spokesperson for Criminon, an international, non-profit | 2 |
| organization which addresses the cause of criminality and seeks | 3 |
| to rehabilitate inmates; she currently resides in Los Angeles; | 4 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 6 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 7 |
| we recognize the stellar career of Marisol Nichols, who has | 8 |
| brought honor to our State through her acting and charitable | 9 |
| work; and be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 |
| presented to Ms. Nichols as an expression of our esteem.
