HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Walter Baltikauski retired from his position with the Spring Valley Fire Department in February of 2006; and

WHEREAS, He served on the Spring Valley Fire Department for 43 years; he was an Officer of the Department for 30 years, and for 20 years he served as Assistant Chief; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure with the fire department, Mr. Baltikauski received two accommodations, one for saving a child from a burning building and one for performing C.P.R. on a parent at John F. Kennedy school; and

WHEREAS, He performed custodial duties and was a school bus driver at John F. Kennedy School in Spring Valley for many years; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Baltikauski has been married to his wife, Cathy, for 43 years; he is the father of Mark and Mary and the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Walter Baltikauski on the occasion of his retirement after 43 years of service at the Spring Valley Fire Department; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Baltikauski as an expression of our gratitude for his willingness to put his life on the line for the citizens of Illinois for so many years.
